IMPORTANT CYCLING TEAM INFORMATION.

Even semi-custom cycling jerseys are wicked expensive!

Thanks to Andy for the first official Team Cycle Kenesis newsletter:

Cycle Kenesis team update Upcoming Training Rides Despite the delayed road readiness of approximately half the team, Cycle Kenesis is going forward with its spring training schedule. The first substantial training ride is scheduled for this Saturday and Sunday. The ride, known among those in the tight CK circles as the Ride between two Cities that Nationally No One Care About, is a two day circuit between Worcester, MA, and Hartford, CT. Riders will be transported from their Boston headquarters to the start line via the MBTA Commuter rail. Accommodations in Hartford are at the team's Farmington training facility (where the team will be doing some lighter training during the latter part of the week under the watchful eyes of Coach Ron). The weather is expected to be clear, and fan turn-out will be in the zero zone. Summer Rides * Coastal Riptide - a 60 + mile ride up the Mass coast. * The New England Drop - a training ride in June, between Boston, MA and Hartford, CT. * Hyannis Hell Day - a 160 mile loop from Hyannis, MA up to Providence Town, across via ferry to Boston, then back down the coast to Hyannis. West Coast Chapter The team has a small West Coast chapter operating out of the San Francisco area. Combining state-of-the-art cycle technology with a determined competitiveness (stemming from what many on the team claim to be a simple family basketball game), the WC chapter looks poised to continue its cycling success in the upcoming season. Look for updates on upcoming East/West Reunion Rides (including a possible June Wedding Bash ride). Although not confirmed at the time of newsletter publication, there have been rumors for years that a team of East/West riders is planning an ascent of the treacherous Mt. Diablo, located in the burning hills east of San Francisco. The rumor, for its worth, is supported by a confirmed sighting of two CK members hiking Mt. Diablo in the summer of 2003. Speculators maintain that the hike was a possible scouting mission, having nothing, in reality, to do with hiking per se. Recruiting * The team has begun an aggressive campaign to recruit the proven marathon runner, Greg Naviloff, as a cyclist. Mr. Naviloff's cycling background is mostly mountainbiking. Team CK expects Mr. Naviloff's technical biking skills combined with his marathon endurance to have an immediate impact on overall team performance. * Although no contact has been made, the team is very enthusiastic about scouting reports on Tim Korwan (known in biking circles as the Commuter Train). Mr. Korwan is still a free agent, something Team CK hopes to change soon. Ride on.
Please note that all interested parties should kinda let Andy or me know if you're interested in riding. I can't make it this weekend because my brother is moving into a new house on Saturday and I'm helping... and I don't have a road bike assembled. That's a biggee. Need that.
