...To the beige-mobile, chums!

HE AIN'T NOTHING BUT A HOUND DOG.

Ronald has been known to let loose with a very loud and surprising "alert" bark when:
  • mail is delivered.
  • people walk dogs past the house.
  • strange noises like washing machines or air conditioners kick on.
Add to the list a new and exciting event:
  • when deer enter the yard to eat vegetables.
This stag sauntered into the yard today, perhaps enjoying the 90 degree weather, perhaps looking for a tender bud to nibble. He got a 7 pound ball of yellin' and screamin', coupled with runnin' and jumpin'. Ronald chased the deer (who was very confused, but I think not very scared) out of the yard with about 45 seconds of near-constant barking. I would have tried to get a movie of the event with our camera, but the battery was dead. You should have heard the racket and seen the look in the deer's eyes with the little brown dog racing around and barking at the top of his lungs. The deer gave several backward glances as he left the yard, confused, surprised, still hungry. Ronald returned to chewing on a Greenie treat as if nothing had happened. Just another day in the life of our protector.
