RONALD'S BOYS

Ronald is almost six months old this week. Those of you with dogs will know that six months is the earliest age that a dog can be fixed. We always figured that we'd fix Ronald because a neutered dog is calmer, doesn't tend to roam, does less leg-lifting, etc. It's hard to do this nonetheless. Ronald's such a cutie that it makes me think that little Roanld-mix puppies would fetch a pretty penny on the open market. Then I think about getting a black and white fur coat and hiring a driver to chauffeur me about in a limousine with an open driver's compartment. Evil.

Stacy will tell you that spaying and neutering saves a lot of heartbreak from unwanted animal babies. It's true. I wouldn't be able to care for all the baby Ronalds that are sure to result and then we get abused and neglected Roanld Jr.s and no one wants that. Stacy even has one of those car magnet-ribbon doodads that says "Spay & Neuter". I'm just saying it's hard to have his boys cut out when all he wants to do is sit on my lap and burrow his nose into the crook of my elbow.

PS- $200!!? The vet in Davis Square quoted that much to do the deed. Tufts Vet school has a clinic that does it for $25. Both of us don't need to get gouged here.
