Sent this email today, thought you'd want to know about it:
To whom it may concern-
Thank you for a very useful tool in the form of Google Maps. I use it often. I have a comment concerning the display of travel directions.
Scenario: I need to get to a stranger's house in another city. I get directions using Google maps. It displays turn-by-turn directions. I want to print them out and take the sheet with me.
Issue: All online mapping applications (gmaps, ymaps, mapquest, etc.) give you turn-by-turn directions from the start point to the highway and then from the highway to the destination. Trouble is, I know how to get from the start point to the highway. I live here. The page of directions could be much shorter and easier to follow if there was a "I know how to get to the highway" checkbox available.
Comment: Is this option desirable to anyone else? I have included some doctored screenshots for your amusement/criticism.
Thanks for an excellent product. I especially enjoy the hybrid satellite / roadway feature.
Sincerely, -Eric Chilton
