CLOSE ENCOUNTER WITH THE NXT KIND

The first authentic test of Lego's new NXT system will be to develop a robot that builds and programs robots in mass-production quantities, assembly line-style, from the older, RCX-based Mindstorms kit with which I am familiar. That would be a neat trick. Just like the old kit could be used to sort Lego bricks based upon color, the new could be used to assemble those sorted bricks into a working device. Do the new motors have the power to snap two Lego bricks together?

Grey goo hypthesis comes true?
