MASS CONFUSION IN THE MALLS OF AMERICA. I think low-rise jeans (sidebar: $118!?... for jeans?) send the wrong message, and moreover, I think that very few people are acting to inform the public about this massive campaign of ignorance. My impression is that young ladies feel that hip-hugging jeans and close-cropped t-shirts send the message that 'I am confident, secure in my appearance, and interested in the latest trends in clothing.' while, in reality, the message being sent is 'My ass hangs out of my clothes when I sit down.'

Seriously... That's the message. We should get Moveon.org to publicize this. Maybe then something will get done about this 'slowly creeping downward' menace.
