THE WIRING IS DRIVING ME CRAZY! I've been working on this motorcycle for months now and I still can't figure out what the wiring situation was! The parts are non-standard, the wire colors match no wiring diagrams that I can find, there are wires missing, aaaarrrrrgggghhhhh! I bid on another Yamaha xs650 on ebay, hoping that it will not drive me crazy! I bought the bike to be a learning experience, but it has been very frustrating. I wish I knew more about wiring. I spent about 2 hours this morning working on it in the driveway, I connected the charging system to the ignition system thorugh what my research has led me to belive is the regulator/rectifier. I looked for spark in the plugs when I kick-started it, but no dice. I quit and pushed it to the edge of the driveway and covered it for the winter. Maybe it will freeze, shatter into thousands of pieces, and melt away before spring...then I won't have to think about it anymore.
